Plans for a Casino in Danville, IL Are Presented to City Council. Danville is one of five Illinois cities set to host a new casino. Since this capital plan was first announced, several companies have announced their interest in opening a gambling venue here. Haven Gaming LLC was eventually granted a license to build and operate a casino in this. According to the agreement, Golden Nugget, LLC will enter into a joint venture agreement with Wilmot Gaming Illinois, LLC to build a new casino in Danville, Illinois, pending obtaining all regulatory approvals. The casino, when opened, will be branded Golden Nugget and feature a Landry’s restaurant steakhouse.

Danville Mayor Scott Eisenhauer says he remains optimistic about the city’s chances for a casino even though the legislation has been bogged down in Springfield for years. The latest attempt to amend a gambling expansion bill fell one vote short in the Illinois House Executive Committee on Monday, but Mayor Eisenhauer says Representative Bob Rita, the bills sponsor, plans to try again.
