Roulette Inside Bets Payout

The payout of 17 to 1 is lower than the straight bet, but the chances of hitting your numbers are 1 in 18, which is way better than the 1 in 37 the straight roulette bet offers. The 5 best roulette bets summarized: Red/Black, Evens/Odds, 1-18/19-36; Columns; Black and third column/Red and second column; Straight up; Split bet; Put these winning. The Relative Difficulty of Roulette Payouts. The payouts of the outside bets are pretty easy. The even, odd, red, black, 1-18 and 19-36 bets all have the same 1:1 win. Roulette is a drain on your wallet simply because the game doesn’t pay what the bets are worth. With 38 numbers (1 to 36, plus 0 and 00), the true odds of hitting a single number on a straight-up bet are 37 to 1, but the house pays only 35 to 1 if you win! Inside bets are, without a doubt, the ones that raise more adrenaline. 35 times your chance is a very competitive payoff when compared to other table games. The most you'll get from a hand of blackjack -one that allows up to 4 splits- would be around 8 to 10 times your initial bet. They also call for larger budgets. Types Of Roulette Bets: The two main types of bets are “inside” and “outside”. There are different betting limits for each type of bet. Usually you can bet much higher on outside bets. This is for a few reasons, but mainly because the payouts are much higher on inside bets.

Casino Roulette 101: Interpretation of Inside Bets in Roulette.

Continuing with our new series on live and online roulette games, today’s discussion will be an introductory lesson in roulette betting. There are three types of wagers that can be placed; Inside bets, Outside bets, and (in a land-based casino) Announced bets.

This article will focus entirely on Inside Bets. You’ll learn all the different types of inside bets, how to place them, what to expect in return, the odds of winning and the true house edge. If you aren’t too familiar with the game of roulette, take a moment to read our previous Casino Roulette 101 tutorial:

Inside Bets in Roulette

The term Inside Bets refers to the inner-most area of a roulette table’s betting diagram. Take a look at the roulette graphic below. The inner-most area is the section that contains all of the numbers, from 0 to 36.

All inside bets are based on one specific number, or small group of up to 6 adjacent numbers. The following is a run-down of all inside bets. Refer to the Figure Diagram on the right for references to the placement of each bet.

Bets

Placing a chip directly in the center of a number, such as the number 8, is a Single-Number Bet (fig. 1) on that number. If the 8 wins, the player wins the bet. If any other number wins, the player loses the bet. Place a chip on the line between 21 and 24, and it becomes a Split Bet (fig. 2) on both of those numbers.

A Street Bet (fig. 3) is a group of three consecutive numbers in a column, such as 1-2-3, 13-14-15, or 25-26-27. You can make this wager by placing a chip on the outside line of the column. Similarly, a Double Street Bet (fig. 4) is a wager on all six numbers in two adjacent streets, such as 1-2-3-4-5-6, or 28-29-30-31-32-33. This bet is made by placing your chip on the outer line of both columns, where they intersect.

A Corner Bet (fig. 5) is a wager on 4 adjacent number in an intersecting square, such as 16-17-19-20. This bet is made by placing a chip directly on the intersection of those four numbers.

Trio Bets (fig. 6) and Basket Bets (fig. 7) are special wagers associated with single-zero roulette games, like European and French Roulette. A Trio Bet is a wager on the 0-1-2, or the 0-2-3, made by placing the chip on the intersecting line between those numbers. A Basket Bet is similar, betting on the 0-1-2-3 by placing a chip on the outer line where both columns intersect.

CAUTION: A word to the wise—be careful where you place your chip when playing in a land-based casino. If you’re betting on a single number, your chip needs to be in the very center of the number’s box. If your chip is touching any edge line, even slightly, it may be interpreted as a line bet. More than one player (claims to have) lost what would have been a 35-to-1 payout due to bad positioning of their chips. To be certain, you can always ask the croupier to place your bet for you. Hand him the chip and tell him where it goes—there can be no confusion! Note that this is not an issue when playing online roulette.
